An even split would have been rather awesome but I do understand why they felt it was necessary to include more to the matte side. You have a few choice ways to use this nify little palette which is always great as hey we all like variety right? If you so please you can swirl, swirl, swirl your brush all over the palette and apply which is what I did while I was testing. This creates a soft, candlelight glow to your face with just the right amount of powder and shimmer. Or you can just use either side separately or together!

Anyway the point I'm trying to make is that they share identical packaging - large, round and plastic with a transparent window that displays the shade inside. Despite the plastic casing I have yet to break any of my MSF's as they are baked products and tend to survive a knock rather well which does make them great for stashing away in your day to day bag. I didn’t notice the oxidation much on me but defintely appreciate this review+update. I use MAC’s Skinfinish Natural in Medium-Deep mostly but started using Dark during the summer (this summer just passed) and will keep up with that routine. A cheaper go-to for me when I don’t want to use up all my MAC so fast lol is the Milani Multitasker Face powder in #7 Dark Tan which is closer to Medium-Deep than Dark and #8 Amber in the summer. Or another alternative for me is the L’Oreal true match powder in C7 Nut Brown or blend with a little C8 Cocoa in the summer.
The powder comes in a baked form (meaning it will last you forever!) and available in 8 shades, It’s a low coverage powder so it’s the best if you don’t have a lot of imperfections to cover. I use this powder on days I don’t want to wear a foundation and Il love how it adds a nice glow to my skin, its matte but not dry and it really brightens up my skin. The only bad thing I noticed is towards the end of the day, you will need to retouch-that I hate because I don’t carry makeup to work with me When I use it to set my foundation on the other hand, it oxidizes and my face ends up looking orange by the end of the day-maybe the black up full coverage foundation and this powder don’t mix – to avoid this I Apply with a light hand,I avoid packing it on-but then I’ll still need to reapply Final verdict It’s a decent powder, am I crazy about it?
It did not oxidise on my skin at all. It lasted most of the day, only needing a touch up in the afternoon. When I used the product on a damp brush it offered nearly full coverage, it didn't look cakey and again it lasted well throughout the day. The powder made my skin look beautiful no matter which way i used it, it didn't highlight any fine lines or pores.
• I can sleep with it on because it's made of minerals. At least I'd like to believe that when I'm feeling lazy about washing my face before bedtime;p Dislikes. I love this too C. My skin is on the dry side and where I live its always winter, so its a must have for me. I just have the wrong shade.
